Daniel DeVaughn discusses fishing, poetry, and the Southern imagination with the poet Adam Vines in this exclusive audio interview.
Adam Vines has published poetry in Poetry, Southwest Review, The Kenyon Review, Gulf Coast, Barrow Street, The Cincinnati Review, 32 Poems and The Literary Review, among many other journals. He is author of The Coal Life (University of Arkansas Press, 2012) and According to Discretion (Unicorn Press, forthcoming 2015), a collaborative poetry collection written with Allen Jih. He has won awards for his teaching from the University of Florida and UAB. He is editor of Birmingham Poetry Review and faculty advisor for the UAB Fishing Team.
Daniel DeVaughn is the executive editor of the arts journal Cumulus, as well as the co-curator of the The Daily Dive, an online forum for the exchange of literature, music and visual art. He holds an MFA from the University of Oregon, and has received fellowships from Sewanee, the Norman Mailer Writer’s Workshop, and the Vermont College of the Fine Arts.
