Bob Hicok

The prolific poet sits down to discuss his roots, his process, and the importance of closure. During the course of this interview Mr. Hicok reads his poems “Making the list I will never make” and “Happy anniversary.”

Bob Hicok is the author of six collections of poetry, including his most recent, Words For Empty And Words For Full. He is the recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and The National Endowment for the Arts, and his poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Poetry and The Paris Review, along with seven editions of The Best American Poetry. He lives and teaches in Virginia.
