“Fogged Clarity” Seeks Communications Assistant

The arts review Fogged Clarity (www.foggedclarity.com) is seeking a Digital Media Coordinator to help launch an upcoming video performance series (The Les Cheneaux Sessions), as well as to spearhead general magazine and content promotion.

Fogged Clarity is an international not-for-profit print and digital arts review publishing literature, interviews, and art that explore consciousness and notions of truth. Since 2008, the magazine has published work from hundreds of artists from all over the world, and received recognition for its editorial vision in The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Poets & Writers, and The Huffington Post. Alongside contemporary emerging voices, Fogged Clarity has featured work from the likes of Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Stuart Dybek, Denise Duhamel, Terese Svoboda and Bill Callahan.

This position requires consistency in time management, as well as the ability to write, edit and promote content as necessary. Time commitment is estimated at around 5 hours a week, but could be less depending on level of proficiency.

In addition to promotion, the position comes with the chance to help determine future content, along with the editors, through pitching ideas, soliciting work from outside artists and representation, as well as combing through our unsolicited submissions. It’s a great opportunity to get your feet wet in the world of literary publishing and marketing, or to continue working within the field.

This is a virtual position entirely conducted online, so you may be based anywhere with consistent access to Internet and email. The position may also carry a small stipend, effectively making you the only staff member getting paid for working on the journal. Above all, though, Fogged Clarity is a true labor of love, and we want the person to fill the position to believe in the power of moving art just as much as we do.

Desired qualifications:

• Experience with many forms of social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, newsletters, Vimeo, Youtube, etc.), and the knowledge and determination to help our readership grow through unique channels on these platforms
• Proficiency, care, and consistency with copyediting and proofreading; previous experience at a literary journal, newspaper, press, or other media/communications organization would really help
• Ace written and verbal communication skills, and an affable personality when working with others through email
• Deep passion for the arts—literary and otherwise—and the desire to stand behind great content

Fogged Clarity is an all-inclusive entity and we greatly encourage women, persons of color, and persons with disabilities to apply.
