Red River Grove

These high rises that don’t exist are taking my stasis
déjà vu stealing my surprises
Dreams are not ambitious
rather hitman premonitions
I can’t play chess when I’m locked
in a glare with my misgivings
Resentment is the title
Volatility the text
I’ll make an example out of me yet

O sweet sixth street shortcut
Taking me to the heart of the city
I’ve created a world in my mind
And I wish that I was here
With someone I don’t know
Appreciating the abstraction
